Hurricane Florence

Tuesday, September 11, beginning at noon, a full four-lane reversal on I-26 in Charleston will begin at the interchange of I-26 and I-526. The full reversal continues west until the I-26 crossover to I-77 just outside Columbia in Lexington County. Along with I-26, US-501, from SC-544 to US 378 and SC-22 to SC-576 will also include a full lane reversal. If traffic conditions warrant, US-278 and US-21 will also include this reversal.

Update: Storm prediction has shifted slightly left. For today, we are still NOT in any zone of closures. However, as people are evacuating the coastal zones, we can expect higher than usual traffic, especially through the I-26 corridor and on SC 121 and SC 34. Gas stations and restaurants should see heavier traffic from the evacuees and others trying to get fuel in anticipation of the storm. The current predictions will be for periods of heavy rain and gusty winds, possibly Thursday - Saturday. Reminder all of this can change. Weather forecasting is that exactly a forecast. There are so many factors involved in the movement and steering of the storm. What we can do is prepare and pray. We will keep you informed.
