The annual Christmas tree lighting is held during the Shoppers Walk on the Saturday evening prior to the Prosperity Christmas Parade and begins at 5:30 PM.  This event is sponsored by the Mid-Carolina Ministerial Association and kicks-off the Christmas season by officially lighting the Town’s Christmas tree, which is located in the Town Square.  Local church choirs and the Mid-Carolina High School Chorus set the mood with holiday carols.  This event is concluded by candlelight as the tree is lit while those gathered sing.
